Weather conditions and sky conditions in the Arab world at the time of observing the crescent of Shawwal 1446 AH

Arab Weather - With the sunset of Saturday, March 29, 2025, various Arab and Islamic countries, including Jordan, will observe the Shawwal crescent to determine the beginning of Eid al-Fitr. According to the Jordanian Astronomical Society, although astronomical calculations confirm that the crescent has been born and will be above the horizon after sunset on Saturday, March 29, in most of the Islamic world, it will be "impossible" to see it with the naked eye or with telescopes in Jordan and the Islamic world.

Weather conditions at the time of sighting the crescent of Shawwal 1446 AH

Jordan and the Levant: God willing, with the sunset on Saturday and during the Eid crescent sighting period, the weather conditions are expected to be less than ideal for sighting, as the sky will be covered with clouds at various altitudes, especially high clouds, across various regions of the Kingdom, in addition to the western horizon. Furthermore, a percentage of dust particles is expected to be present in the atmosphere along with the clouds, which will negatively affect sighting the crescent.

Arabian Peninsula and North Africa: As for the rest of the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Arab world, the weather conditions will be suitable, God willing, in the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, Yemen, Qatar, Bahrain, and several parts of southern, western, and eastern Saudi Arabia, and unsuitable in the rest of the regions of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, and Iraq due to cloud cover and dust. As for North Africa, the weather conditions will be suitable in Egypt and Libya, and unsuitable in Algeria and Tunisia due to cloud cover, while they will be suitable in northern Morocco.
