طقس العرب - قالت السلطات الأمريكية إن 88 شخصا على الأقل لقوا حتفهم وإن 196 آخرين في عداد المفقودين بعد مرور ثلاثة أسابيع على اندلاع أسوأ حريق غابات في تاريخ كاليفورنيا من حيث عدد القتلى والذي أتى على تجمع سكني جبلي صغير وأحاله إلى أنقاض متفحمة.

 

ودمر حريق كامب فاير الذي شب في الثامن من نوفمبر تشرين الثاني نحو 14 ألف منزل وأحرق قرابة 153 ألف فدان في بلدة باراديس ومحيطها في شمال كاليفورنيا التي كان عدد سكانها 27 ألف نسمة.

 

 

وقال كوري هونيا قائد شرطة مقاطعة بيوت يوم الأربعاء إنه يأمل في أن يكون بعض المفقودين على قيد الحياة.

 

وأضاف مخاطبا الصحفيين أن السلطات أنهت بحثها عن الضحايا.

 

واختلف عدد المسجلين في قائمة المفقودين، إذ تقول السلطات إن أشخاصا كان يعتقد أنهم مفقودون عثر عليهم في ملاجئ أو فنادق أو عند أصدقاء.

 

وقال هونيا إن فحوص الحمض النووي وأساليب أخرى أدت للتعرف على هويات نحو 35 ممن لقوا حتفهم بسبب الحريق بينما أمكن التعرف بشكل مبدئي على هويات 47 آخرين ولم تتسن معرفة هوية ستة.

 

وقال مسؤولو الإطفاء إنهم تمكنوا من احتواء الحريق بالكامل يوم الأحد. ولم يتوصل المحققون بعد لسبب اندلاعه.
