Al-Shaker reviews the most prominent features of winter 2025/2026 and the chances of snow statistically
Arab Weather - The CEO of Arab Weather Center, Mohammed Al-Shaker, reviewed the most prominent features of the climate forecasts for the winter of 2025/2026, noting that current indicators show volatile behavior of weather systems that may characterize the season with colder than usual.
Al-Shaker explained that the succession of high-pressure systems in the northern hemisphere would increase the chances of weather systems changing rapidly, allowing cold to very cold air masses to reach the region, which could make this winter colder than average.
He added that the season is expected to witness active and frequent periods, leading to rainy conditions affecting different regions of the Kingdom, which will make the total rainfall around the general averages, with the possibility of exceeding them in some regions.
Regarding the chances of snowfall, Al-Shaker pointed out that there are good statistical chances during this winter, based on the analysis of previous winter seasons that are similar in terms of climate indicators to the current season, as the data shows that about 67% of these similar seasons recorded snow accumulation in the capital, Amman.
As for rainfall, Al-Shaker confirmed that forecasts indicate amounts around the general averages and exceeding them in some areas, noting that 83% of seasons similar to this winter witnessed rainfall amounts around or above average in various regions of the Kingdom.
And God knows best.
