Al-Shaker: Unusual behavior of low-pressure systems during autumn led to the south of the Kingdom being characterized by rainfall.
Arab Weather - The CEO of the Arab Weather Center, Muhammad Al-Shaker, said that the autumn season of this year, 2025, witnessed unusual weather behavior, which clearly contributed to the southern regions of the Kingdom being distinguished by remarkable amounts of rain compared to the rest of the regions.
Al-Shaker explained, during his interview on the Nabdh Al-Balad program, that autumn was characterized by a rare and early weather event, which is the warming of the polar vortex, something that is not usually recorded at this time of year.
He explained that this warming led to a significant fluctuation in the jet stream, which resulted in the formation of low-pressure systems with unusual surface centers off the coasts of Lebanon and northern Palestine, which changed the traditional paths of weather systems.
He added that this unusual weather pattern caused the rainy conditions to be concentrated in the south of the Kingdom, where those areas received excellent amounts of rain that contributed to improving the rainy season early, at a time when the amounts of rain were less in other parts of the country.
And God knows best.
