Jordan | A mild air mass on Sunday and Monday, with a noticeable drop in temperatures and a chance of rain. Here are the weather details for next week.
Arab Weather - The latest numerical models indicate that the Kingdom will be affected on Sunday and Monday, May 4 and 5, 2025, by a mild air mass coming from the eastern Mediterranean. Therefore, temperatures will noticeably drop to become lower than their average for this time of year. The weather will be mild over various regions of the Kingdom and tend to be cold over the mountains, while it will tend to be hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the city of Aqaba, coinciding with the appearance of clouds at different altitudes.
Cold and humid nights in various regions
Nighttime temperatures will drop on Sunday and Monday, with the weather becoming colder in the late evening and early morning hours. This will require coats, especially for those living in the highlands. Surface humidity will also rise significantly, with low clouds spreading, which may lead to fog forming over some high mountain areas.
Active westerly winds on Sunday and Monday, and dust waves in desert areas.
Moderate westerly to northwesterly winds will blow across the Kingdom on Sunday and Monday, accompanied by strong gusts that may exceed 60 km/h at times. These winds will stir up dust and may form dust waves in the desert areas of the Kingdom, causing a significant decrease in horizontal visibility. The dust waves will include desert roads such as the Baghdad International Highway and the Trebil border crossing.
Chance of local rain showers in the north of the Kingdom on Sunday and Monday.
Cloud cover is expected to increase on Sunday and Monday, with the potential for scattered showers in parts of the north and center of the Kingdom, God willing. Thunder may be possible at times.
Temperatures will rise from Tuesday until the end of the week.
Weather forecasts indicate a gradual rise in temperatures starting Tuesday and continuing until the end of the week, as the weather becomes warm to relatively hot in many areas, with temperatures exceeding their usual rates for this time of year, especially in the low-lying areas, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Meanwhile, the weather becomes moderate during the night hours, tending to cool slightly during the late night and dawn hours over the high mountains and eastern plains, which calls for attention to the large temperature differences between day and night.
And God knows best.
