Arab Weather - The Kingdom will be increasingly affected by the extension of what is called the Siberian High tonight, i.e., Saturday/Sunday night, and temperatures will drop to near zero degrees Celsius near the surface of the earth in several areas, while the weather will continue to be noticeably cold on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Very cold weather tonight with frost in several areas

During the coming night, i.e. Saturday/Sunday night, temperatures will drop to around zero degrees Celsius near the ground in several parts of the Kingdom and perhaps lower during the late night hours and Wednesday morning, especially over the Sharah Mountains, the desert regions, and parts of the eastern plains. As a result of the drop in temperatures to around zero degrees Celsius, the clear skies, and the continued high humidity, frost is expected to form in several areas (except the Jordan Valley and Aqaba), including grassy and agricultural areas and vehicle structures. The winds will be moderate southeasterly, occasionally becoming active, especially in the western regions.

As for the rest of the day, temperatures will tend to rise slightly, but the feeling of cold will remain high due to the activity of the easterly winds. Thus, the weather will continue to be generally cold with maximum temperatures ranging from 8 to 12°C in various regions, while it will be relatively cold in the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas, with the appearance of medium and high clouds in the afternoon and evening, especially in the south and east of the Kingdom. The winds will be moderate southeasterly with active gusts that will significantly increase the feeling of cold.

During the night hours of Sunday/Monday, the very cold weather will continue, especially in the eastern plains and mountain peaks, and the winds will be active easterly in the western and exposed areas, significantly increasing the feeling of cold.
