Timeline of the low-pressure system and areas prone to heavy rainfall
Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Center said that the Kingdom will be affected, God willing, at intervals by a low-pressure system classified as a third-degree, medium-high activity during the weekend, and in this article we present to you the timeline and expected peak times of the low-pressure system, God willing.
The timeline of the low-pressure system and the expected peak times in detail:
Wednesday, December 10, 2025: The Kingdom will be affected by the leading edge of the low-pressure system in the form of unstable weather conditions that will develop gradually, especially during the afternoon hours, as temperatures will decrease and cold weather will prevail, God willing. Clouds will increase at different altitudes, and there will be a chance of rain showers in several areas of the Kingdom. These showers may be heavy in some areas, including the southern Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, Wadi Araba, and extending to the Aqaba Governorate. They may be accompanied by lightning, thunder, and possibly hail in some areas, leading to significant flow in valleys and streams, the formation of flash floods, and the occurrence of water accumulations.
As the night progresses and Thursday dawns, the chances of rain gradually decrease in most cities and cloud cover decreases in most areas, while the chance of rain showers remains in some desert areas, God willing.
Thursday, December 11, 2025: Thursday will begin, God willing, without rain in most regions of the Kingdom. Temperatures will drop slightly to become 3-5 degrees Celsius below average. However, during the afternoon and evening hours, the Kingdom will be gradually affected by a third-degree (moderate-high effectiveness) low-pressure system that will gradually center off the Lebanese coast. The weather will gradually turn cloudy with rain expected, God willing, in various regions of the Kingdom. This rain will be heavy at times, leading to the flow of valleys, the formation of torrents, and the occurrence of water accumulations on roads. The rain will be accompanied by the passage of low-level clouds touching the ground, leading to the formation of dense fog over the high mountain peaks.
During the night hours of Thursday/Friday, the weather will be cold, cloudy, and rainy, God willing, in various regions of the Kingdom. The rain will be heavy in some areas, and low-lying clouds are expected to cross the mountainous highlands, which will significantly reduce horizontal visibility on the roads.
Friday, December 12, 2025: The Kingdom will continue to be affected by the third-degree low-pressure system, and temperatures will drop slightly to become 4-6 degrees Celsius below average, with clouds appearing at different altitudes, with rain expected, God willing, in different regions of the Kingdom, and its concentration will gradually shift to the southern mountain highlands.
Recommendations during the expected weather conditions:
- Wear warm clothes.
- Safe use of heating appliances.
- Drive carefully and leave a safe distance when it is raining.
- Warning of flash floods and overflowing valleys, especially in low-lying areas.
- Be aware of the formation of dense fog over high mountain peaks.
And God knows best.
