An agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iraq to cooperate in agriculture and confront climate change

Weather of Arabia - Within the framework of the efforts made to strengthen the historical partnership relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Iraq in various fields, the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers announced the conclusion of an agreement with Saudi Arabia regarding cooperation in the field of developing the reality of agriculture, the date industry, the environmental file, and confronting climate change.

A memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and Iraq to build expertise in the environmental field

The spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Haider Majeed, indicated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Al-Alaywi, met with the Saudi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture in the Saudi city of Jeddah, on the sidelines of the Coordination Council between the two countries, to discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of developing the agricultural sector.

And he added, "There is a great ambition on both sides in the field of exchanging experiences and working to develop the agricultural reality, especially the reality of palm trees and the date industry, as well as cooperation in the field of fish wealth."

He added that there is joint cooperation in accordance with the vision of the Iraqi government plan to confront climate change, and a memorandum of understanding is scheduled to be signed between the two sides in the environmental field and the activation of previous memorandums of understanding in this regard.
