An agreement to invest solar energy at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University

ArabiaWeather.com- Al-Hussein Bin Talal University signed an agreement with Firas Balasma Corporation for Control Systems, according to which the construction, operation and transfer of ownership of an electric power generation plant from solar energy at the university will take place for a period of 10 years, after which the ownership of the station with all its production will transfer to the university.

The Firas Balasma Foundation was qualified as a member of the American “Hecate Energy” consortium for the energy investment project. To establish a 3-megawatt solar power plant to cover the university's needs of electric energy consumption at a price lower than the current energy purchase price to save about 70% of the current bill amount, approximately seven hundred thousand dinars annually.

It is noteworthy that the station will be built inside the campus of Al-Hussein University on an area estimated at fifty dunums, and the university has obtained a set of additional concessions related to the establishment of a research station for meteorological monitoring and all its components, and a station for energy research with all its equipment and systems, according to Al-Ghad.
