Jordan | Timeline of the low-pressure system that will begin affecting the Kingdom on Monday evening

Arab Weather - Weather experts at the Arab Weather Center said that the Kingdom will be affected, God willing, starting from the late hours of Monday, by a second-degree low-pressure system according to the Arab Weather Center's scale for the intensity of low-pressure systems. The low-pressure system is accompanied by a surge of cold air towards the region, which can be described as the coldest since last spring. Accordingly, rainfall is expected to resume in different parts of the Kingdom, according to the following time sequence:

Monday, December 15, 2025:

• Temperatures will drop further and the weather will be generally cold.
• As the day progresses, cloud cover increases and the chance of scattered showers gradually increases in several areas.
• Rainfall is more concentrated in the south (Southern Ghor, Dead Sea, Wadi Araba, Karak, Tafila, Ma’an, Petra District, and Wadi Musa).
• It is possible that these rains will sometimes be heavy, causing valleys and streams to overflow, and possibly resulting in flash floods.
• Low clouds touching the ground surface lead to fog formation and reduced horizontal visibility over high mountain peaks.

Tuesday, December 16, 2025:

• On Tuesday, temperatures will drop further to around 10 degrees Celsius in the mountains, including the capital Amman.
• The weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy with occasional showers in many areas, sometimes heavy, causing flash floods in valleys and streams.
• On Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, temperatures will drop significantly, with the weather becoming cold to very cold, and minimum temperatures dropping to between 3-5 degrees Celsius.
• Cloud cover will decrease, but there will still be a chance of rain showers, concentrated in the south and east of the Kingdom. The rain may be accompanied by hail in some areas.
• The chances of fog remain high over the mountainous highlands as a result of the passage of low clouds touching the ground.

Wednesday, December 17, 2025:

• The Kingdom is increasingly affected by the cold air mass, and maximum temperatures are dropping to between 8-9 degrees Celsius in the mountains.
• Rain showers are possible, with precipitation taking the form of sleet or light snow showers on the peaks of the Sharah Mountains. Hail showers are also possible in some other areas.
• The chance of rain showers remains, especially in the southeast of the Kingdom.
• Wednesday night/Thursday morning: Very cold weather, temperatures dropping to between 3-5 degrees Celsius in the mountains, with very cold conditions prevailing and frost forming, especially in the high mountains and desert areas.
