Jordan: Changes in weather patterns and a relatively hot air mass rushing in during the second half of the week.
Arab Weather - The Kingdom is experiencing these days temperatures several degrees Celsius cooler than usual, especially during the night hours, which necessitated the return to the use of heating devices for residents of the highlands. However, the weather maps at the Arab Weather Center indicate a radical change in the shape of the weather systems in the second half of the week, as the Kingdom is affected by an air mass with temperatures much higher than its predecessor, with maximum temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius in the capital, Amman, especially on Thursday and Friday.
The air mass with lower than usual temperatures will move away and be replaced by a warmer one starting Tuesday.
In detail, computer simulations indicate that an air mass with cooler-than-usual temperatures will move eastward from the Kingdom starting Tuesday, replaced by a much warmer one coming from the Arabian Peninsula. This will result in a significant and gradual rise in temperatures during the second half of this week, God willing. The weather will return to a noticeable warmth during the day and become less cold than at night.
The expected weather conditions during the second half of the week can be summarized as follows:
Tuesday 5/6/2025: A significant rise in temperatures will occur, and the weather will be moderate spring-like during the day in various regions, and tend to be hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Maximum temperatures in the capital, Amman, will be around 22-23 degrees Celsius, and during the night hours the weather will be relatively cold.
Wednesday 5/7/2025: A relatively hot air mass is approaching the Kingdom, and another rise in temperatures will occur. The weather will be spring-like and warm in all regions, tending to be hot during the afternoon and evening hours, and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Maximum temperatures in neighborhoods of the capital, Amman, will reach around 28 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures will also rise, and the weather at night will be less cold than usual.
Thursday and Friday, May 8-9, 2025: The Kingdom will be affected by a relatively hot and dry air mass accompanied by a strong high pressure system in the upper atmosphere, which will lead to a further rise in temperatures, approaching the mid-30s Celsius in the capital, Amman. The weather will be relatively hot to hot in general, and very hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with temperatures approaching 40 Celsius in those areas.
And God knows best.
