موقع Arabiaweather.com- ناشد الرئيس الإندونيسي "جوكو ويدودو" اليوم الخميس عدداً من دول الجوار "سنغافورة وروسيا وماليزيا واليابان" بالتدخل للمساعدة بإطفاء الحرائق التي تواصل إندلاعها مُنذ شهرين، مُتسببة بنشر الأدخنة الكثيفة بالمنطقة ككل.
وجاء هذا النداء بعد رفض إندونيسيا مراراً و تكراراً لعروض المُساعدة التي تلقتها من دول الجوار للسيطرة على الحرائق الناتجة عن حراق الحطب وقش الأرز لتمهيد الأراضي لزراعات زيت النخيل ولب الخشب في جزيرة سومطرة.
وقال "ويدودو" في بيان نشر على موقع وزير شؤون مجلس الوزراء "طلبنا المساعدة من سنغافورة روسيا وماليزيا واليابا"، وتابع: "نأمل أن يؤدي هذا إلى تسريع العملية لأن الحرائق لازالة البقايا النباتية تختلف عن حرائق الغابات العادية، وما نحتاجه الآن هو طائرات يمكنها حمل ما يتراوح بين 12 و15 طنًا من الماء وليست مثل الطائرات التي لدينا والتي يمكنها حمل ما يتراوح بين طنين وثلاثة أطنان."
