Dams store promising amounts of water during the recent low-pressure system (details)

Arab Weather - The Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority, Engineer Hisham Al-Hayseh, said this morning, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, during an inspection tour as part of the periodic field follow-up of water facilities, and to review the technical conditions of the dams and the level of readiness and safety, that all our water facilities, thanks to God, are working efficiently and effectively. He added, during his inspection of the Mujib, Zarqa Ma'in and Wala dams in Madaba Governorate, that the technical and operational teams are dealing with the highest levels of professionalism and responsibility in terms of managing all facilities and dams, the technical procedures adopted by the competent staff, the monitoring, operation and periodic maintenance work, and the safety procedures taken, to ensure the efficiency of all dams and their ability to accommodate the quantities of flowing water according to the approved engineering standards.

He pointed out that promising quantities were stored during the recent depression in the dams, amounting to 25 million cubic meters, concentrated in the King Talal and Wala dams, praising the efforts of the technical and engineering staff working in all sites, and their role in maintaining the safety and operational efficiency of the water facilities.
