Riyadh – Arab Weather – The National Center for Meteorology issued today its climate report for the first quarter of 2026 (January – February – March), including rainfall and temperature forecasts in various regions of the Kingdom, based on the outputs of climate models and statistical analysis of historical records.

January 2026: Above-average rainfall chances in several regions

The report issued by the National Center for Meteorology indicates that January will witness - God willing - opportunities for above-average rainfall in parts of the west and center of the Kingdom, east of Medina, Hail except for its south, the northern borders, and the Al-Jawf region except for its western parts, with expectations that the amounts of rainfall will be between heavy and very heavy.

Areas around average and others below average during January

Rainfall amounts are expected to be around average in Najran, southeast of Mecca, south of Riyadh, south of the Eastern Province, and northeast of Qassim, while they will be below average in the rest of the regions.

February 2026: Light to moderate rainfall around average

During February, rainfall is expected to range between light and moderate in the Najran, southeast of Makkah, east of Asir, south of Riyadh, and south of the Eastern Province regions, while it will be below average in the rest of the Kingdom.

March 2026: Moderate to heavy rainfall in specific areas

The report stated that March may witness moderate to heavy rainfall in Najran (except for its west), northwest of Mecca, south of Riyadh, and the south of the Eastern Province, in addition to the south, west and parts of the central Tabuk region, and the north, west and parts of the south of the Medina region, while it will be below average in the rest of the regions.
