Weather of Arabia - The activities of the Taif Rose Festival “Qitaf 19” were launched under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud, Governor of Taif, and it is organized in cooperation between the Taif Rose Cooperative Society and the Taif Municipality, with the participation of the various sectors associated with Al-Radaf Park. The festival witnessed a large turnout from residents and visitors who attended from the early hours, as the Traffic Department and security authorities regulated traffic around the park, which is considered one of the largest parks in the governorate.

The most prominent thing that attracted attention at the festival was the largest carpet of flowers and roses of its kind, which was created by the Taif Municipality as part of an initiative to support the festival. It was designed on an area of 5,206 square meters, using 1,026,491 seedlings of various flowers and roses. This huge floral carpet was executed with inspired decorative patterns. One of the heritage and palaces of the old Taif Governorate, this giant pink carpet became an attraction for many visiting families who took souvenir photos next to it.

The Secretary of Taif, Engineer Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Zaidi, directed the teams working at the festival to combine efforts to ensure the success of the tourism event, and to harness all municipal capabilities to facilitate the visitors’ experience. The festival witnessed a range of accompanying activities, such as an open theater and cultural competitions, and attendees enjoyed popular performances, an interactive fountain, fire shows, and sports games.

The rose stalls in the park also attracted many visitors who were interested in buying aromatic Taif rose products. Relevant government agencies, such as companies and associations, participated in the festival, as the Taif Municipality carried out many beautification and rehabilitation works for the park, in addition to organizing an agricultural nursery and a model agricultural reserve, and presenting projects to enhance the tourism and aesthetic aspect of the place.

It is noteworthy that this festival is an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the beauty of nature and flowers
