Saudi Arabia: Details of the first rainy spell bringing thunderstorms to several regions
Arab Weather – The latest outputs of weather maps and the Arab Weather application show that Saudi Arabia will be affected by a rainy and seasonal condition during the middle of the month, the first of this year, resulting from the flow of tropical moisture coinciding with the advance of a cold upper-level trough from the northeast, which may lead to the development of unstable weather conditions that cause the return of thunderstorms and the expansion of their impact, with their concentration on the northern and western sectors of the Kingdom.
Thunderstorm forecast
According to updates from the Arab Weather app, the rainy weather is expected to begin gradually on Thursday, November 13, 2025, intensify on Friday and Saturday, and continue on Sunday, November 16, 2025. The rainy weather will cover the western sector of the Kingdom, including coastal areas such as Jeddah, as well as the Makkah and Madinah regions, reaching the Hail and Tabuk regions, extending towards Hauf and the Northern Borders.
Thunderstorms are accompanied by showers of varying intensity, sometimes heavy, and may include localized hail in some areas. Cumulonimbus clouds are also expected to form rapidly and spread over wider areas, depending on moisture activity and surface and upper-level wind currents.
