Weather of Arabia issues the weather forecast for Ramadan 1441/2020 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

General situation during Ramadan 2020

• The first half of Ramadan is associated with normal temperatures in various regions of Saudi Arabia.
• Thunderstorms expected in parts of the center, east and north of the country.
• Riyadh, eastern, Hail, and Al-Qassim are likely to be affected by the rains with the start of Ramadan.
• The high temperature during the second half of Ramadan, especially the last week of it, in the center, west and east of the country.
• Surface wind activity in the west, center, and north of the country to excite dust and dust.
• Hot weather in Makkah, Jeddah and Medina, with temperatures around just above their general rates.

First week (1-7 Ramadan corresponding to 24-30 April 2020 )

• The northwest region is expected to be affected by cooler air masses associated with a shallow surface extension that creates unstable weather conditions in parts of the north, center and east of the country associated with thunderstorms.
• Surface winds are also very active in large parts of Saudi Arabia, especially the northwest, which form dust and dirt and low horizontal visibility in some areas.
• The greatest temperatures also vary between rise and fall in different regions of the country with temperatures around their normal levels in general, so that hot to hot air prevails in particular, in western, central and eastern Saudi Arabia, while the atmosphere is moderate in general in the southern highlands and northwestern regions.

The second week (8-14 Ramadan, 1-7 May 2020 )

• Increasingly, the western parts of the Kingdom are affected by an elevated air that increases the temperature in an additional way, with hot air prevailing in Medina, Jeddah, Makkah and its surroundings, along with temperatures around their normal levels in general.
• Less cold waves cross from the north of the Arabian Peninsula, to form unstable weather conditions in parts of the north, east, and possibly central Saudi Arabia, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms of rain.
• Surface winds and dust, especially in the northwest and central parts of the country, are still active, and thunderstorms in parts of the East are not excluded. Thunderstorm showers in the southern highlands, such as Asir, Jizan, Najran, and possibly Al-Baha and Taif.

The third week (15-21 Ramadan, corresponding to 8-14 May 2020 )

• The tropical elevation is increasing in the direction of central Saudi Arabia, as temperatures rise in the center and west of the country, while they remain around their usual rates, and the chances of rain falls from various regions with the opportunity to show thunder showers in the southern highlands.
• The temperatures also rise slightly in the north and northeast of the Kingdom in conjunction with the formation of heat depressions that increase the temperature of the weather.
• Also, it is not excluded that northeastern Saudi Arabia is affected by unstable weather conditions that may result in thunderstorms of rain, so that they are rapid in impact and associated with lower temperatures. Despite this, a hot atmosphere prevails in many regions of the country, while it is more moderate in the north of the country.

Fourth week and rest of the month (22-30 Ramadan corresponding to 15-30 May 2020 )

Rainfall opportunities are declining for the various regions of the country, and large parts of Saudi Arabia are affected by a high orbital extension that increases temperatures, especially in the center, east and west of the country, so that higher temperatures prevail than normal rates and hot air prevails in various regions of the country while it is more moderate in the southern highlands.
