Saudi Arabia | Makkah Al-Mukarramah.. Opening the gates of Wadi Qanuna Dam to drain 5 million cubic metres

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">Weather of Arabia - The General Organization for Irrigation in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, opened the gates of Wadi Qanuna Dam yesterday to drain an amount of 5 million cubic meters, at a discharge rate of 4 cubic meters per second, for a period of 15 days. This discharge aims to meet the needs of farmers and increase the water level in the wells located below the dam, in coordination with the competent authorities.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Engineer Hamoud bin Muhammad Al-Subaie, the designated team leader of the General Irrigation Corporation in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, explained that the dam has a storage capacity of 79.2 million cubic metres, with a height of 70 metres, a spillway width of 134 metres, and a length of 326 metres.
