ArabiaWeather.com- The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority (EMRC) inaugurated a project to generate electricity from solar energy cells. With the aim of providing the building with about 140 kilowatts of electricity, at a total cost of 119 thousand dinars.

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Authority, Engineer Farouk Al-Hiyari, inaugurated the project, in addition to the opening of the Energy and Minerals Awareness Office, which will provide information aimed at educating the sectors of electricity, renewable energy, natural resources, and radiological and nuclear work.

The project aims to rationalize the consumption of electric energy and reduce the high energy bill in the authority, in addition to supporting national efforts in this field, indicating that the solar energy project can be expanded to produce about 175 kilowatts in the future.

The solar cell project contains 560 solar cells, designed to supply the Authority's building, which has an area of 600 square meters, with electric energy.

The Energy and Minerals Awareness Office was provided with devices used in radiation control and protection, in addition to environmental devices such as measuring dust and gases, according to Petra.

Al-Hiyari indicated that the authority's solar cell project to generate electric power has been linked to a screen. With the aim of monitoring the loads and obstetric capacity resulting from the project and monitoring the change of loads during the day.
