The National Center for Meteorology: Heavy rains and flash floods expected in large areas of the Kingdom today
The National Center for Meteorology, in its weather report for today, expected, God willing, the continuation of moderate to heavy thunderstorms leading to flash floods in parts of the Eastern Province, Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, Riyadh, Madinah, Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir and Jazan regions, accompanied by hail showers and active winds stirring up dust and sand, with a chance of fog forming in some of those areas.
In the Red Sea, surface winds are northwesterly to westerly in the northern and central parts, and southeasterly to southerly in the southern part, with waves reaching up to two and a half meters towards the Bab al-Mandab Strait, amidst a sea state ranging from light to moderate waves, reaching rough at times.
In the Arabian Gulf, the winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly in the northern parts, and northerly to northeasterly in the central and southern parts, with a noticeable increase in wind speed that may exceed 50 km/h, with the formation of rain-bearing thunderclouds, and a rise in wave height of more than two meters in some areas, amidst a fluctuating sea state ranging from light to rough as the weather develops.
