Al-Musnad: A widespread dust storm hits about 8 countries with winds exceeding 80 km/h

Dr. Abdullah Al-Musnad, a former professor of climate at Qassim University, revealed that the dust storm that formed yesterday in the region resulted from a deep surface low-pressure system, which led to strong activity of westerly winds, with gusts exceeding 80 km/h in southern Jordan and Iraq.

He explained that the storm's impact extended to large areas of southern Syria, eastern Jordan, northern Saudi Arabia, Iraq, western Iran, in addition to Azerbaijan, Armenia and southern Turkey, noting that its impact continues according to satellite images.

He added that what is remarkable about this dust storm is its unusual geographical path, as it moved from west to east, contrary to the common pattern of dust storms that often move from north to south.
