And hydrogen represents more than 90% of the components of the universe, so it is the third most abundant element on the surface of the earth, and it is a gas that has no color, taste or smell, and it is also non-toxic.

It consists of a diatomic molecule, H2, and is characterized by the fact that it does not exist alone, but is always associated with another element. It is linked to oxygen, forming water, H2O, and in other organic compounds.

Hydrogen is obtained by separating the components of water into hydrogen and oxygen in several ways, including thermal separation, electrolysis, or using solar energy, and this is what is being worked on recently. Thus, it does not produce any environmental pollutants or toxic gases.

Hydrogen is used as a fuel for aircraft because it is lightweight, and NASA has adopted hydrogen in its space program years ago, as it is the fuel that powers spacecraft, and hydrogen fuel cells operate the electrical system of the spaceship, and this results in pure water that astronauts use to drink.

One of the uses of hydrogen is also its entry as a working fuel in nuclear reactors, and in the formation of batteries of various sizes.
