طقس العرب- قالت الحكومة الثلاثاء إن عدد القتلى نتيجة انهيار أرضي وقع في أوغندا في الأسبوع الماضي ارتفع إلى 43 شخصا بينما سيجري على الفور إعادة توطين السكان الذين يتبين أنهم أكثر عرضة للخطر في منطقة الكارثة.

 

وتسببت الأمطار الغزيرة في طوفان من الصخور والطين والمياه انحدر أسفل جبل إلجون بالقرب من الحدود مع كينيا وتسبب في اقتلاع الأشجار وانهيار المنازل ودفن السكان في بلدة بوكالاسي وبعض القرى المجاورة.

 

وذكر بيان للحكومة أن العدد النهائي للقتلى وصل إلى 43 شخصا ارتفاعا من 31 في حصيلة أولية وأضاف أن 21 شخصا أصيبوا بينما تشرد نحو 800 شخص.

 

وقال البيان إن الحكومة ”وجهت بالبدء على الفور في إعادة توطين الأشخاص الذين يواجهون خطر (المزيد) من الانهيارات الأرضية“.

 

وخصصت الحكومة نحو 8.66 مليون دولار لتمويل إعادة التوطين العاجلة للأشخاص الأكثر عرضة للخطر.
