موقع طقس العرب - توصل فريق من الباحثين الفرنسيين في مركز الدراسات المناخية في مدينة ليون الفرنسية وعلى رأسهم "فريدى بوشيه" مدير أبحاث مركز الدراسات العلمية الفرنسية إلى تقنية حديثة تعتمد على تقييم ومدة موجات الحرارة في أقل من 90 يوما متعديين الفصول الطبيعية لهذه الأمواج وهى من مائة إلى ألف مره أكثر فاعلية من الظواهر الأخرى مع تخفيض وقت الحسابات.
وكانت هناك طريقتان يتم الاعتماد عليهما للتنبؤ بموجات الحرارة الشديدة كالتي حدثت في صيف 2003 في فرنسا أو السيول المدمرة المتتالية التي حدثت في نهاية أغسطس 2017 وكل من إعصار "هارفى" و"أيرما" في المحيط الأطلنطى.
وتتمثل الطريقة الأولى في الاعتماد على البيانات القديمة لأكثر من قرن، بينما تتمثل الطريقة الثانية في الاعتماد على الصور الرقمية لتطور المناخ لعدة سنوات، وكم مرة حدثت هذه الظواهر الطبيعية الشديدة، وهذه الحسابات بالطريقتين مكلفة كما أنها تحتاج لفترات زمنية طويلة تتعدي قرنا من الزمان أحيانا.
