 وذهبت أفكار القائمين على المشروع نحو الأقمشة أو الأغطية البلاستيكية إلا إن التكلفة الإجمالية لتغطية هذه المساحة بدت باهظة الثمن لذا إقترح  أحد العاملين بالمشروع تغطية الخزان بكمية كبيرة من الكرات البلاستيكية السوداء التي تعمل على عكس الأشعة فوق البنفسجية التي تتفاعل مع الكلور.

 

وبالفعل لاقت الفكرة إعجاب القائمين على المشروع وتمت الموافقه عليها حيث قاموا باسقاط أكثر من 400000 كرة لتغطية مساحة البركة.
