Video: A cell phone explosion caused by the heat sparks a fire inside a vehicle in Jordan, and the driver warns.
Arab Weather - Activists on Facebook circulated a video clip showing the effects of a fire that broke out inside a vehicle, as a result of a mobile phone exploding after being accidentally left inside a closed vehicle under direct sunlight.
According to the details, the incident occurred during the afternoon hours, when the car was parked in an open area, fully exposed to the sun. The phone was accidentally left inside for a period of time, causing a significant increase in the cabin temperature due to a phenomenon known as "thermal storage."
How did the car turn into a closed thermal oven?
When you lock your car and leave it in the sun, heat quickly builds up inside, turning the cabin into a very stuffy and dangerous environment.
According to studies, if the outside temperature is 35 degrees Celsius, the inside of the car can exceed 60 to 70 degrees Celsius in less than 30 minutes!
Hazardous materials that should not be left inside the car:
Arab Weather warns against leaving the following items inside closed vehicles, especially in the summer:
- Mobile phones and electronic devices
- Batteries and portable chargers
- lighters and perfumes
- Pressurized sterilization containers
All of these materials may explode or ignite once the temperature inside the vehicle rises, posing a significant risk to lives and property.
