Astronomer Mulhim bin Muhammad Hindi, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, said: "This phenomenon is considered one of the natural astronomical phenomena to easily determine the direction of the qiblah for areas far from Mecca without using any devices, as it is sufficient to head towards the moon at the moment of perpendicularity so that the person is heading towards the qiblah directly." .

He added: "The orthogonal occurs at 6:26 pm Saudi time (15:26 UTC), and anyone who sees the moon at this moment can determine and correct the qiblah, and this includes all countries of Asia, Europe and Africa."
