ArabiaWeather.com- A group of Lebanese students hopes to eliminate the problem of lost travel bags between airports in the world by creating smart travel bags that follow the steps of their owner, which the researchers called “a bag that follows me wherever I go.” As this small technical device may change the travel experience.

Student Ralph Chalhoub says: "We are a team of five people who invented a travel bag that follows you wherever you go without having to pay it. The idea came to us when we were at Dubai airport and we saw how people suffer while carrying their heavy bags, and this is what prompted us to create this bag."

The smart travel bag comes equipped with a number of sensors and a central operations unit called the “brain” of the computer, and it has an infrared system that tracks what looks like an anklet. It is worn by the owner of the bag, and the bag runs completely behind him.

It also uses GPS and a global communications system (GSM) through a mobile phone chip so that the system sends messages to the user's phone telling him the location of the bag. The phone can also be used as a remote control to command the bag to “follow me” or “wait.”
