طقس العرب- بدأ في العاشر من الشهر الجاري موسم العقارب في المملكة العربية السعودية ومنطقة الخليج العربي والذي يستمر 39 يوماً، ويُقسم إلى ثلاثة أجزاء: الأول يطلق عليه اسم "السم" كناية عن قوة البرد المفاجئ، والثاني "الدم" دلالة على شدة البرد، أما الأخيرة فهي "الدسم" كناية عن حمل المواشي للشحم تزامنًا مع قدوم فصل للربيع.
وقد سُميت بالعقرب لأنها تلسع ببردها كلسع العقرب، إذ إن العقارب تباغتك بلسعِها كحال البرد في هذا الوقت من الزمان، فالعشرون يوماً الأولى الأصل فيها الاعتدال الذي يميل إلى البرودة في الليل، والشق الأخير الأصل فيه الاعتدال الذي يميل إلى الحرارة في وضح النهار، فالمجمل هو الاعتدال إلا أنها لا تخلو من هجمات بردٍ مباغتة ولاسعة.
