Early snow expected over Türkiye's peaks by the end of the week
Arab Weather - The latest computer simulation results for air mass forecasts indicate that an early cold air mass will sweep across large parts of eastern and southeastern Europe in the coming days. This is due to a high pressure system positioned to the west of the continent, causing a rainy, cold, and even snowy low pressure system to form over the eastern peaks of Turkey.
Areas covered by snow forecast in Türkiye
Forecasts indicate that the low pressure system will have a strong impact on the northern coasts of Turkey overlooking the Black Sea, especially the eastern ones, with expectations of heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, which will lead to the formation of floods in those areas. It is expected that the amount of rain will exceed 200 mm in those areas.
As the cold air deepens, there's a chance of snowfall over the Kashkar Mountains, which are 2,300 meters above sea level, with accumulations of more than 20 cm expected, God willing. This snowfall is considered somewhat early, but it occurs over many years.
And God knows best.
