Arab Weather - Over the past few days, a series of severe wildfires have raged across large areas of Canada, particularly in the eastern provinces, amid dry weather conditions and strong winds that have contributed to the rapid spread of the fires. These fires have forced hundreds of residents to evacuate their homes, while large areas of natural forest have been damaged.

Smoke from the fires travels thousands of kilometers and reaches the eastern Mediterranean.

According to satellite imagery and weather model analysis, upper air currents carried massive amounts of smoke from the fires resulting from this environmental disaster over very long distances. The smoke crossed the Atlantic Ocean and traveled thousands of kilometers to reach the eastern Mediterranean basin, including some countries in the Levant.

Change in sunset colors due to smoke spread

Over the past few days, residents of the region have noticed a striking change in the colors of the sky at sunset, with the sky appearing saturated with deep orange and red hues. This is due to the spread of smoke particles in the upper layers of the atmosphere, which affect the way sunlight is scattered and alter its apparent colors.
