The state of California, specifically Los Angeles, has been experiencing a wave of raging fires for several days that have led to material and human losses and are still ongoing at the time of preparing this report.

The air quality index reveals that the smoke is spreading into the upper atmosphere, affecting the air quality in the city and surrounding areas. The smoke is also being carried by winds to other areas, posing an additional threat to residents of those areas, especially in light of the activity of the dry easterly winds, locally called "Santa Ana".
