A traffic sergeant saves a child who nearly suffocated after being left in a closed car in hot weather

Weather of Arabia - Captain Muwaffaq Al-Khataba from the Traffic Department's operations room indicated, on Wednesday, that the vigilance of one of the cadres of the Traffic Department in Irbid was a reason, after God's mercy, in saving a child who nearly suffocated in a closed vehicle in hot weather.

Where he drew the attention of a traffic sergeant in one of the areas of the city of Irbid, after the signs of Prince Hassan, the presence of a "5-year-old" child inside a vehicle at the height of high temperatures, after his mother left him there to do some needs from the market, and the vehicle and windows were closed.

Al-Khatba added that the traffic sergeant contacted the administration to contact the owner of the vehicle, and took the child out of it at the last moments before he suffocated, and his condition was critical, after the lack of oxygen inside the vehicle, and his health condition is currently good.

The speeches appealed to citizens not to leave children inside the vehicle in light of the high temperatures, which puts them at risk.

The dangers of leaving the child in the car in the summer

About 40 children die every year in the United States because they are left in vehicles under the heat, where the body reaches a critical stage and even death when it cannot cool itself fast enough, and the risk increases for children because the child's body temperature rises 3-5 times faster of the adult body.

Vehicles usually heat up quickly, in just 10 minutes the vehicle temperature can rise by about 7 degrees, and when a child is left in a hot car, the major organs of the child begin to malfunction when the temperature reaches 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius), and the child can die When its temperature reaches 107 degrees Fahrenheit (41.6 degrees Celsius).

Therefore, the Arab Weather Center always stresses the importance of not leaving children in vehicles in light of high temperatures, even for a few minutes.
