Full winter Ramadans from 2026 to 2031

Arab Weather - Astronomical calculations indicate that Ramadan in Islamic and Arab countries will fall during winter next year, starting from 2026 and continuing through 2031. For the first time in decades, the holy month will begin and end during cold weather. This means that the coming years will witness winter Ramadans characterized by shorter fasting hours and lower temperatures, a stark contrast to the long summer Ramadans experienced by most Muslims in past years.

Ramadan returns to winter

God willing, from 2026 to 2031, Ramadan in Jordan will fall entirely within the astronomical winter, according to astronomical calculations. This change is due to the nature of the lunar Hijri calendar, which advances by approximately 10 to 11 days each year compared to the Gregorian calendar, causing the holy month to rotate through the four seasons over a period of approximately 33 years.

This means that fasting will be observed in colder weather in the coming years and during the shortest days of the year. As 2032 approaches, Ramadan will gradually begin to move toward late autumn, thus ending the "winter Ramadan" era, which many anticipate due to its comfortable weather and moderate fasting hours.
