وسيكون القمر خلال الفترة الممتدة من 11- 17 نوفمبر قد وصل الى مرحلة الربع الأخير من شهره مع استعداده لبداية شهره الجديد (مرحلة ولادة هلال شهر صفر لعام ١٤٣٩ هجرية)، أي يُمكن رؤية الشهب في الليل مع انتهاء الوهج القمري لتصبح الرؤية متاحة في الأماكن غير المضاءة مع الاخذ بعين الاعتبار الظروف الجوية المحلية التي قد تعيق المشاهدة .
ويعود مصدر هذه الشهب إلى غبار المذنب (تمبل)؛ نتيجة مرور الأرض بذيل المذنب وتدعى بشهب الأسديات نسبة للبرج الذي سيكون في خلفية الهطل كما أنها لا تترك أي آثار سلبيه على الأرض كونها تحترق على ارتفاعات عالية.
