طقس العرب - يعتبر أبو زريق أو " الزريقي" طائر مقيم يتواجد بأـعداد كبيرة في معظم المناطق الشمالية من المملكة الحرجية والمشجرة.
ويألف "الزريقي" غابات البلوط والسرور في أحراش دبين واشتفينا وبرقش وجلعاد وغيرها من الأماكن الحرجية، وأطلق عليه اسم أبو زريق؛ غطائيات الجناحين مقلمه بألوان الأزرق والأسود والأبيض
ويعد طائر أبو زريق"صديق للبيئة بامتياز إذا ‘نه يبدأ في شهرين تشرين الأول والثاني من كل عام في جمع ثمار حبات البلوط والملول ودفنها في التراب بأعداد كبيرة لتكون "مونة" له استعدادًا لفصل الشتاء الطويل وشحيح الغذاء.
وعندما يحل الشتاء ويقل الغذاء يُهرع أبو زريق "الزريقي" إلى البحث عن أماكن دفنه ثمار البلوط ليتغذى عليها ، وهنا قد لا تسعفه ذاكرته في تحديد جميع أماكن التخزين فيجد البعض ولا يجد الآخر، وهو في العادة لا يجد أكثر من 35% من مجموع ما دفن، والثمار التي نسيها تكون قد نالت نصيبًا وافرًا من مياه الأمطار فسرعان من تنبت بشكل طبيعي ، وبذلك يكون الزريقي قد أدى خدمة طوعية بامتياز لتجذير الغابة .
