موقع ArabiaWeather.com- قامت فرقة من المُصورين يوم 28 مايو من العام 2008 بزيارة منطقة نائية في جزيرة غرينلاند القريبة من القُطب الشمالي لغايات رصد مظاهر التغيُرات المناخية، وحركة الكُتل الجليدية في المنطقة، ولكنهم قاموا بتصوير حدث أكبر من المتوقع.

 

فقد كان وجودهم في ذلك المكان فُرصة لتسجيل فيديو لأكبر عملية حركة للكُتل الجليدية تم تصويرها في التاريخ، بعدما انقلب جبل جليدي يزيد مساحة عن منطقة مانهاتن في مدينة نيويورك الامريكية وتحرك الكُتل الجليدية بشكل سريع، وذلك وسط انبهار طاقم التصوير الذي كان في الوقت والزمان المناسبين.

 

الفيديو أعلاه يُوضح الحركة العنيفة للجبال الجليدية، وقوّة الصوت الناتج عن ذلك (شبيه بصوت الرعد)، وهو أحد الدلالات على تغيُرات مناخية تضرب جزيرة غرينلاند، من ناحية تسارُع في ذوبان الكُتل الجليدية.
