Barqash forests in the Koura District / Irbid are witnessing active environmental and archaeological tourism trails

The Jordanian Society for Human Development and the Environment organized an environmental and tourism path for each of the Renewable Energy and Environment Investment Association and the Land of Love Tourist Association in Karak Governorate, with the aim of introducing the Jordanian citizen to his environment and the stunning beauty of nature throughout the Kingdom.

The first stop was in the bosom of the forests of Barqash, where a reception was held for the participants in the open air, and a " morning entertainment" was held in honor of the attendees, which included a number of popular "Korani " food. Then they moved to the north of the Koura District and saw Wadi Zaqlab and Wadi Abu Ziyad.

Then they moved to the slopes of Jabal al-Hour and al-Tantur (Khirbet Deir al-Assal) to the west of the town of Kafr Rakeb to enjoy the view of the northern slope of the mountain, where a very beautiful artistic painting appears in the form of a beautiful green carpet of all kinds of spectrum, as the slopes appear in the form of contour sections with zigzags and ripples It is as natural as the painting of an artist who excelled in drawing and coloring it in various natural, captivating and captivating gradations of colours.
Then they moved on foot through the forests of Barqash through Wadi Bira and listened to a detailed briefing by Dr. Ahmad Al-Shuraideh, the head of the association on the forest, pointed out that the natural forests of Barqash are located in the southeastern part of the Koura district, on an area estimated at (12) thousand dunums. , where a pattern of dense forests of oaks and broad-leaved and evergreen trees that cover its mountains and valleys prevails and is interspersed with other tree and herbaceous species, where there are (47) types of natural forest trees, the most important of which are the oak (Molol) (the national tree of Jordan), and the arbutus (the maple). ( Maple) - Where there is a large forest in the "Bira" valley, not only in Jordan, but also to the east of the Mediterranean.
Then they moved to the cave of Christ, peace be upon him, in which Christ and a number of his disciples took refuge to escape persecution by the Roman leader on Palestine (Herod) and his ruler over Galilee (Plates). In a later period, a press was set up for the production of wine and wine, and another press for the production of olive oil .
While the participants expressed their astonishment about the beauty of the "Koura" environment, which is rich in tourist attractions, archaeological sites, biodiversity, vegetation and forest cover, and they also expressed regret at the media and knowledge deprivation that this charming natural region suffers from, announcing an environmental-tourist-cultural trip that will remain immortal in memory.
