Arab Weather - Weather experts at Arab Weather said that the Kingdom will be affected by a normal second-degree low-pressure system on Sunday, January 18, 2026. This low-pressure system is expected to bring cold weather with intermittent rainfall to the northern regions, extending to the central regions, and later to parts of the south and east of the Kingdom. This rainfall may be heavy at times, especially in some northern and central regions.

This is how a typical second-degree low-pressure system will affect the Kingdom:

1- Lower temperatures and cold weather

God willing, the low-pressure system is expected to be accompanied by a drop in temperatures as a result of its association with a cold air mass, resulting in generally cold weather on Sunday, coinciding with the absence of sunlight due to the presence of clouds, in addition to occasional wind activity, which increases the feeling of cold.

2- Rainfall occurs intermittently across several regions

Forecasts indicate that the low-pressure system will bring intermittent rainfall, beginning in the northern regions including Irbid, Jerash, and Ajloun, and later extending to the central regions, including Balqa, Amman, and Madaba. During the afternoon and evening, the chance of rain will extend to parts of the south and east of the Kingdom.

3- Continued cold weather and chances of rain on Sunday night/Monday morning, with fog warnings in place.

During the night hours of Sunday/Monday, the weather will remain cold, God willing, with continued chances of rain at intervals in some northern and central regions and parts of the south and east of the Kingdom. This will be accompanied by the formation of dense fog over the high mountain peaks and on the outer roads, including the Irbid-Amman road, the road leading to Queen Alia International Airport, and the desert road.

4- The low-pressure system will move away on Monday, but the weather will remain cold and there is still a chance of rain.

Despite the low pressure system moving away on Monday, the weather will remain generally cold, with a continued chance of scattered rain in some areas, especially during the morning hours.
