A cooler air mass is rushing into the region from the Levant. Could this be the start of the seasonal season?

Arab Weather - The latest outputs from numerical computer models indicate that a cooler air mass coming from the eastern Mediterranean basin and the Levant region is moving toward the northern parts of the Kingdom, impacting Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and the Northern Borders, accompanied by a drop in temperatures at the end of the week.

Maximum temperatures in the aforementioned areas of Tabuk, Al-Jawf, and the Northern Borders are expected to drop to between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius, while at night, they will drop to between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius. This results in sharp temperature differences between day and night, so it's recommended to wear coats.

Could the autumnal air mass in the north of the Kingdom be the beginning of the season?

Arab Weather confirms that the autumnal air mass affecting the northern part of the Kingdom over the coming days does not mark the official start of the Wasm season. Rather, it is a cooler, drier air mass that will not even bring rainfall to the northern regions.

Temperatures are around average in the rest of the regions.

As for the rest of the Kingdom, temperatures will remain around their climatic averages, and the weather in the coming days will tend to be hot during the day, with highs exceeding 35°C in the capital, Riyadh. Meanwhile, the weather will remain moderate in the southwestern mountain range (the Kingdom's summer resorts), due to the elevation of these areas above sea level. Winds will be variable in direction and light to moderate, while northwesterly winds will be moderate to active on the Red Sea and the Red Sea coasts, including Jeddah, which will increase the concentration of dust and suspended dust in the atmosphere.

At night, temperatures drop and the weather tends to be moderate in the late night and early morning hours, while it is pleasant in the southwestern highlands and tends to be cold over the high peaks.

Weak and limited chances of rain in the southwest of the Kingdom

Cumulus clouds will appear locally over parts of the highlands in the southwest of the Kingdom, and may be accompanied by limited rainfall.
