• Al-Ahsa is a low-lying region, as its land surface is only 140 meters above the sea on average.
• Its entry into the negative space due to the effect of the upper air elevation, which sometimes perches over most of the Arabian Gulf basin, including eastern Saudi Arabia, and causes severe heat waves during some days of the summer season.
