Which areas in Saudi Arabia are most prone to snowfall in winter?

1. Tabuk Region - Al-Lawz Mountain:

The Tabuk region, specifically Jabal Al-Lawz, located in the northwest of the Kingdom, is most susceptible to snowfall. Its peaks rise more than 2,500 meters above sea level, making it an ideal environment for snowfall when the Kingdom is affected by polar air masses coming from the eastern Mediterranean or the northern Levant.

2. Al-Aqlan and Al-Dhahr Heights:

The Alqan and Al-Dhaher highlands adjacent to Jabal Al-Lawz also experience frequent snowfall or freezing rain during the height of winter, and these areas are often covered in snow for temporary periods.

3. Almond Heights to Al-Qurayyat:

In some strong seasons, the chances of snow extend to Al-Qurayyat and Tarif in the north of the Kingdom, especially when the passage of deep air depressions is accompanied by a sharp drop in surface temperatures.
