موقع ArabiaWeather.com – قليله هي المعلومات التي نعرفها عن ملكة النمل الأبيض، تلك الملكة العملاقة بحجمها و الغريبة بشكلها وبكُل تفاصيلها، هذه الحشرة تمتلك القدرة على العيش و التأقلم في المحيط لفترة زمينة طويلة تصل إلى 50 عاماً.

 

تعتبر ملكة النمل الأبيض ضخمة الحجم مقارنة بحجم العاملات، وتبيض يومياً قرابة بما يعادل حوالي 30000 بيضة يومياً ، أي بما يعادل حوالي نصف مليار بيضة خلال فترة حياتها.

 

والنمل البيض و ليس نملاً بالمعنى الحقيقي، وله شكل يختلف قليلاُ عن باقي أنواع النمل، إذ يتصل الصدر والبطن في النمل الأبيض مباشرة وبدون خصر، و تتغذى على مادة السليلوز المتوافرة في كثير من استعمالات الإنسان اليومية (ملابس – ورق – سجاد – موكيت – حصير – ستائر – مخدات ومراتب – أثاث خشبى).
