The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) published recent satellite images of the Arafat plain, taken by satellites belonging to the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), from an altitude of 518 kilometers above the Earth's surface, in a majestic scene that attracted the attention of followers on social media platforms.
The images showed the Arafat plain with remarkable clarity from space, with detailed views of Mount Arafat, the equipped camps, roads and areas surrounding the holy site, coinciding with the ongoing preparations to receive pilgrims during the Hajj season.
The footage documented an aspect of the technological development employed by the Kingdom in the fields of space and remote sensing, where satellite technologies are used to monitor vital sites and provide accurate images of the holy sites during major seasons.
A large number of users reacted to the images, describing the scene as "exceptional" and "awe-inspiring," especially with the appearance of Mount Arafat from a high altitude of more than 500 kilometers above the Earth, reflecting the scale of scientific and technological development that the Kingdom is witnessing in the space sector.
