In that month, the region was exposed to three major depressions, from 17 to 28 November, and more than three times the monthly averages fell in some stations, including the Madaba monitoring station, in which about 172 millimeters fell during that month, most of which fell in the depression The second is about 85 millimeters.
The third depression brought snow to the south of the Kingdom
In the third depression on November 27, snow fell in the high mountain heights, which exceeded 1,100 meters, including parts of the north of the capital, Amman.
As for the rest of the Kingdom's main stations, the amount of rain exceeded twice its normal values for the month of November, and when looking at the archives, we rarely find such a good month.
What is the scientific reason that led to the Kingdom being affected by a series of depressions?
The scientific reason that led to this is due to the concentration of high air in all layers of the atmosphere over the western, central and southern European continents, which allowed cold air masses to flow towards the Balkans and then through Turkey to the eastern Mediterranean, including the Kingdom, and most of those rains were accompanied by strong winds. And strong thunderstorms.
As for that season, it ended with amounts of rain that exceeded the rates, ranging between 100-130% in some stations, and snow fell several times in the high mountain heights, but without large accumulations, except for the depression that affected exclusively the north of the Kingdom, specifically in Irbid Governorate on 12-2 -2005, bringing with it about 20-30 cm, even in low-lying areas, in a precedent that has not been repeated since 1992 to the present day.
