A low-pressure system accompanied by rain and lightning reaches the eastern Mediterranean, but its effects do not include most of the Levant. Why?

Arab Weather - The latest computer map updates show a cold air mass in the upper atmosphere accompanied by a low-pressure system in the different atmospheric layers towards the eastern Mediterranean basin, where thunderstorms will be active in the Mediterranean basin. These can be observed in the coming days through satellite images available within the Arab Weather application. However, the effects of this low-pressure system will not reach Jordan, while secondary effects will reach parts of the eastern Mediterranean, as mentioned at the end of the report.

Despite the presence of the low-pressure system over the sea, why don't its effects reach Jordan?

In this context, weather experts at the Arab Weather Center confirmed that the effects of the weather system over the sea will not reach Jordan, due to the shape of the weather systems, which will lead to the withdrawal of the low-pressure system away from the region during the coming days, in addition to the presence of the subtropical high-pressure system near the Kingdom, which acts as a barrier to the progress of the weather disturbance towards the Kingdom.

It is not unlikely that secondary consequences of this weather system will reach some areas of the eastern Mediterranean in the form of the possibility of limited thunderstorms forming over the far north of Egypt and limited areas of the Palestinian coast, extending to narrow and random geographical areas of northwestern Syria and Lebanon.
