A low-pressure system and a cold air mass in the central Mediterranean are pushing a warmer-than-usual air mass into Jordan.

Arab Weather - The latest satellite images and weather maps indicate the formation of a low-pressure system in the central Mediterranean, bringing heavy rain to low-lying areas. The same weather system is also causing heavy snowfall over mountain peaks, particularly in Italy, Greece, and surrounding countries.

A strong low pressure system over Europe is pushing warmth towards the eastern Mediterranean and Jordan.

Scientifically speaking, weather systems in the Northern Hemisphere are interconnected, with the relationship between the shape of weather systems in southern Europe and the Maghreb countries being inversely related. For the countries of the eastern Mediterranean basin to be affected by low-pressure systems and winter systems, a high-pressure system must be centered over southwestern Europe and the Maghreb countries.

However, in the current situation, the cold winds rushing towards the aforementioned regions are causing the relatively hot winds to shift towards the eastern Mediterranean countries, including Jordan, and thus temperatures are rising to near-summer levels.
