A new heat wave will affect Egypt's weather in the coming days, with most eyes turning to the southern regions.

Arab Weather - The latest computer simulation outputs at the Arab Weather Center, especially those that sense the movement of air masses, indicate that the Arab Republic of Egypt is being affected by an extremely hot air mass resulting from the strengthening of a massive high pressure system in the upper atmosphere, starting Friday. The coming days will continue with extremely hot and exhausting weather, and expectations of record temperatures in the southern regions approaching 50 degrees Celsius, while they will exceed the 40-degree Celsius threshold in Cairo and large areas of the country.

A heat wave is set to scorch Egypt's atmosphere in the coming days, with most eyes turning to the southern regions.

In detail, the specialists of the Arab Weather Center's air operations department said that the high pressure system will intensify over the country in the coming days and during the weekend, especially in the south, and will be accompanied by an increase in the heating of the very hot air mass, so that another rise in temperatures will occur, to be higher than their average for this time of year by about 10-12 degrees Celsius, and the weather will be very hot in various regions of the country, and the severity of the heat increases the further we head south, so that the weather will be blazing in those regions.

Winds will be moderate northerly to northwesterly, accompanied by active gusts that will stir up sand and reduce horizontal visibility, especially in Upper Egypt governorates.

Computer simulations: scorching temperatures reaching the high 40s Celsius in southern regions

Arab Weather experts are following up on computer modeling indicating that the southern regions, especially Aswan and its surrounding areas and the border areas, will be exposed to scorching air currents with record temperatures that may reach 50 degrees Celsius. These regions are expected to record temperatures ranging between 47-48 degrees Celsius, while computer modeling senses temperatures ranging between 42-44 degrees Celsius in the rest of the regions, including the northern part of Lower Egypt and neighborhoods of Greater Cairo, God willing, especially on Saturday.

Nights tend to be hot in various parts of Egypt, with more moderate temperatures in the North Coast cities.

As the heat wave continues, nighttime (minimum) temperatures will rise, and the weather will be relatively hot to hot in various regions. However, the northern coasts and Sinai are an exception, as these regions are affected by marine air currents that lower temperatures and create a moderate but humid climate.

During the period of influence of the hot air mass, the Arab Weather Center recommends paying attention to the following:

Avoid prolonged and direct exposure to sunlight.

Drink sufficient amounts of fluids and moisturizers constantly.

Do not leave pressurized containers or any flammable materials inside closed vehicles under the sun.

Do not leave children inside closed vehicles, even for a short period.

Beware of the risk of increased dust levels and their impact on patients with respiratory diseases, eyesight, and horizontal vision.

Wear loose, light-colored clothing, as well as hats.
