Ongoing updates regarding the suspension of studies in schools and universities in the Kingdom for tomorrow, Thursday, December 18, 2025:

• The education directorates in the areas of Shobak, Petra, the Southern Badia, Tafila, and Basira announced the modification of working hours for tomorrow, Thursday, December 18, 2025, in order to preserve public safety in light of the expected wave of frost and freezing.

• In the southern desert region, school and directorate hours will be delayed until 9:00 AM.

• In the Tafila Governorate, Professor Imran Al-Lasasmeh announced that the start of classes for students in public and private schools will be delayed until 10:00 AM, while the working hours of the Education Directorate employees there will begin at 9:00 AM to ensure everyone’s safety.

• Ma’an Governorate: The Director of Education for the Ma’an region, Dr. Adnan Al-Habashneh, in coordination with the Governor of Ma’an, Mr. Khaled Al-Hajjaj, decided to postpone the start of classes for students in all government schools affiliated with the directorate until nine o’clock in the morning on Thursday.

• Al-Hussein Bin Talal University: The President of Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Professor Dr. Atef Al-Kharabsheh, announced the postponement of the start of work for university employees for tomorrow, Thursday, until 9:30 AM, with all student lectures being transferred to the electronic (distance) education system, due to the prevailing weather conditions in the region.
