 فالإقلاع عن التدخين قد يؤدي إلى زيادة في الوزن لدى البعض، ولكن هذه الزيادة تعتمد على جسم كل فرد. فقد أظهرت الأبحاث السابقة أنه يمكن أن يخسر البعض بضعة كيلوغرامات، فيما يمكن للآخرين أن يخسروا أكثر من 25 كيلوغراماً.

 

من جهتها، تشير سوزان فيلدهير، اختصاصية التغذية في قسم علوم الصحة العامة، في كلية الطب- ولاية بنسلفانيا، إنَّ "كثيراً من المدخنين يشعرون بالقلق إزاء زيادة وزنهم بعد الإقلاع عن التدخين، وهذا يمكن أن يشكِّل عائقاً لعدم محاولة الإقلاع عن التدخين".
